The most recent American Trucking Associations forecast shows the trucking industry is expected to grow steadily over the next five years.
The ATA expects freight volume to grow 3.4 percent annually between 2018 and 2023 before continuing at a 2.3 percent growth between 2023 and 2028.
Manufacturing, consumer spending and international trade are among the key contributors spurring the rapid growth, according to the ATA’s Freight Transportation Forecast.
“As the U.S. population grows and the economy increases with it, we will see continued gains in demand for freight transportation,” said ATA Chief Economist Bob Costello in a press release.
Hardinger prepared for demands of growth
Team Hardinger is more than prepared for the demands that come with the expected industry growth, says CEO H Bender.
The company’s fleet of modern trucks are operated by experienced drivers who have achieved:
- A 99 percent rate of on-time deliveries
- A safety rating that places Team Hardinger in the top 8.3 percent of trucking companies in the nation.
In addition, Team Hardinger’s investments in industry-leading technology allows customers to track and trace goods in real time and gives dispatchers up-to-the-minute information on drivers’ speeds, stops and logs. (Team Hardinger began using electronic logs in 2011, long before the federal government’s December 2017 mandate the switch be made from paper to electronic.)
The company’s emphasis on safety, its percentage of on-time deliveries and its investment in state-of-the-art technologies is just the start of what gives Team Hardinger’s customers the confidence they need to know the Erie-based company is ready to grow with them — now and long into the future, Bender says.
“Our team’s commitment to our customers has made us a leader nationwide in terms of safety, technology and on-time deliveries,” Bender says. “We’re well prepared to meet the needs of all customers.”
